Led by experts in public policy, The Children’s Movement has authored a 2011 legislative agenda that seeks to address our first five focus issues:
High-quality parent skill-building, high-quality mentoring, screening and treatment for children who may have special needs, improving Florida’s voluntary pre-K program and health insurance for all children.
It has been before legislative delegations across the state.
Meanwhile, Lawrence has brought the message to the most powerful decision-makers in Tallahassee, meeting with the governor, Senate president, House speaker, and a number of other influential elected officials.
A movement such as this has never before been attempted, but the risks to the future of our state are too significant to ignore.
A movement is not a mission for any one legislative session, but rather long-term, enduring and sustainable.
